FAQ: 'Your GPU (Intel(R) Iris(R) Xe Graphics) or driver doesn't support linear rendering' message appearing
What was the issue?
When loading up the Bodyswaps app on a Windows laptop, a pop up appears with the message 'Your GPU (Intel(R) Iris(R) Xe Graphics) or driver doesn't support linear rendering' and the app will not load.
This occurs when the Intel graphics driver reports reduced rendering capabilities (commonly due to power-management or driver configuration), preventing Bodyswaps from launching successfully.
How can I fix or work around this (short term)?
✅ Ensure the laptop is plugged in and in 'high performance mode' (Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Power Options)
What is the longer term fix? Now Available
✅ We released an alternative version of the app (3.4.7), designed to resolve this issue for users. This is now available via the app store, or you can access the .exe directly here.
Who is affected?
-
Users accessing Bodyswaps via certain laptop models.
Quest, Pico, Vive, Mac, iOS and Android devices do not appear to be impacted.
