Individual Codes vs. Class Codes vs. Self-enrollment

Use this article as a quick guide for enrollment methods.

All methods require a class to exist first. To create a class, see: Classes in Bodyswaps Go.

See more details about enrollment methods in our Enrolling Learners in Classes article.

Enrollment Method

When to Use

Pros

Cons

Time of Code Validity

Self-Enrollment (Link/QR Code)

Async learning; post the link/QR in your LMS or syllabus for students to self-onboard

Seamless LMS integration; no manual roster building

Less oversight on timing; depends on students using their correct email / not duplicating their account with multiple emails

72 Hours, user returns to class invitation email any time they need a new code.

Bulk Enrollment (CSV Upload)

Setting up a full semester class or department cohort in advance

Fast mass import from one spreadsheet

Needs admin permissions; Coach or admin must send invitations from the class.

Manual / Individual Add

Late adds or schedule changes for students already in the system

Precise control; quick to add specific students to specific sections

Doesn't scale well; each student needs an individual add

Class Code (Standard or Self-Register)

Sync learning; live lectures, labs, or Zoom/Teams sessions where everyone logs in together

Instant, simultaneous access for the whole class

Requires students to be present and attentive to enter codes correctly

3 hours, learner cannot regenerate code unless coach also sends invitations from the 'Learner' section of the class.
